چکیده

Cucurbit chlorotic yellows virus (CCYV) is a plant that causes damage to cucurbit crops such as watermelon and cucumber, transmitted by an insect vector known the whitefly. Since CCYV was first detected on cucumber in Chungbuk 2018, it has been reported other areas including Gyeongsang Korea. In 2020, we performed field surveys of yellowing diseases greenhouses growing melon (Jincheon Eumseong). Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction analysis 79 collected samples melon, watermelon, weeds resulted detection 4 samples: Three were singly infected with one mixed CCYV, aphid borne virus, Watermelon mosaic virus. The complete genome sequences four isolates (ES 1–ES 4) determined genetically compared those previously retrieved from GenBank. Phylogenetic analyses RNA 1 2 revealed ES clustered group closely related China. also very low genetic diversity among isolates. general, showed little diversity, regardless host or geographic origins. potential pose serious threat production Further studies are needed examine pathogenicity transmissibility cucurbits watermelon.

Biological and Molecular Characterization of a Korean Isolate of Cucurbit aphid-borne yellows virus Infecting Cucumis Species in Korea

Surveys of yellowing viruses in plastic tunnels and in open field crops of melon (Cucumis melo cultivar catalupo), oriental melon (C. melo cultivar oriental melon), and cucumber (C. sativus) were carried out in two melon-growing areas in 2014, Korea. Severe yellowing symptoms on older leaves of melon and chlorotic spots on younger leaves of melon were observed in the plastic tunnels. The sympto...

Direct evidence for the semipersistent transmission of Cucurbit chlorotic yellows virus by a whitefly vector

Cucurbit chlorotic yellows virus (CCYV) (genus Crinivirus, family Closteroviridae) is an emerging plant virus, and is now spreading and causing severe economic losses to cucurbit crops in many Asian countries. CCYV is believed to be transmitted specifically by the sweetpotato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci, in a semipersistent manner. In the present study, we provide direct evidence for the semipersi...

Presence of Recombinant Strain of Cucurbit Aphid Borne Yellows Virus in Iran

Background: Cucurbit aphid-borne yellows virus (CABYV) is among the most important yellowing viruses on cucurbits in Iran. The presence of CABYV has been previously reported from the major cucurbit growing areas in Iran, however, there are few studies concerning the detection of the diff erent strains of this virus in the grower’s fi elds, and especially, there is no report of ...

First Complete Genome Sequence of Cucurbit aphid-borne yellows virus from Papua New Guinea

Analysis of an RNA-Seq library from cucumber leaf RNA revealed the first complete genome sequence of Cucurbit aphid-borne yellows virus (CABYV) from Papua New Guinea. We compared it with 36 complete CABYV genomes from other world regions. It most resembled the genome of South Korean isolate GS6.
